India leads ICC Test Championship ranking

India leads the latest ICC Test Championship ranking made on August 29, 2010

India achieved Rating score of 127 playing 31 Matches to earn 3944 Points to grab the top position of test cricket while South Africa held second position securing rating score of 119 playing 29 matches favouring 3463 points.

Then, Sri Lanka achieved rating score of 115 playing 23 Matches to earn 2635 points placing them as third in ranking while Australia became fourth achieving rating score of 113 playing 34 Matches to earn 3830 points.

England achieved rating score of 112 playing 39 Matches to earn 4355 points and Pakistan gained rating score of 83 playing 23 Matches to earn 1918 points and West Indies took rating score of 79 playing 21 Matches to earn 1668 points. New Zealand also did some comparable score of 78 playing 25 matches achieving 1946 points. But the least scorer Bangladesh pictured them with very unexpected rating score of 7 playing 19 matches and achieving very negligible 131 points only.

BGB from BDR

No more BDR! Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) has officially been named after Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) today, January 23, 2011.  The renaming, though came into effect after the president signed the bill passed through parliament over a month ago, came on Sunday after prime minister Sheikh Hasina hoisted the BGB flag at its Peelkhana headquarters.  The flag has also been changed a little bit.  Bangladesh's 'first line of defence' went through a few changes, including its name and uniform, with a new law stipulating death for mutiny, apparently to absolve it of the bloody mutiny of Feb 25-26, 2009.   Parliament passed the bill, which was subsequently endorsed by the president on Dec 20 last year , bringing the changes in BDR to rid it of the stigma that would invariably be attached to its name.  But Maj Gen Mohammad Rafiqul Islam at a function on Jan 1 used his old designation as head of BDR since, according to him, 'formalities' to call him the BGB direct...
