Bangladesh Stock Market loses BDT 850 Billion

A total of Tk 85,000 crore have been channeled out through the Bangladesh Share Market within the last 30 working days, sources said. The General Index was 8918 points on December 5, 2010 and it labelled down at 6312 point on January 20, 2011.  The amount siphoned off during the last six month specially was very preplanned sources added. Total market capital was Tk 3,68,000 Crore (Tk 3680 Billion) on December 5, 2010 which now collapsed to Tk 2,83,000 Crore (Tk 2830 Billion) on January 20, 2011. Total Capital reduces of Tk 85,000 Crore (850 Billion), which amount is channeled out by the Market Makers in the last one month, sources said. 

Bangladeshi national killed by Indian BSF on Friday

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot a Bangladeshi national dead on Balapara frontier in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari District of the country in the early hours on Friday (December 17, 2010), just one day after the country-wide colorful celebration of its Victory day, sources confirmed. The victim was identified as Abdur Rashid, 35, son of Abu Chan Mia of Thakurganj village in the upazila. He was a cow trader, family sources of the deceased said. Mentioned that, Mr. Rashid is the 3rd victim of Indian BSF after the killing of Chapainawabganj and Jessore in the last seven days. According to Balapara Banladesh Rifles (BDR) sources, members of the BSF opened fire on the Bangladeshi nationals as they were waiting for cows near border pillar No 8. However, other traders managed to escape from India border but Rashid got killed on the spot. Indian BSF kills Bangladeshi National today

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Bangladeshi National at Masudpur frontier under Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj District of the country on Friday, 10th December 2010, sources confirmed. The deceased was identified as Kalu Mia, son of Abdur Razzak of Thuthapara-Sahapara village of the upazila. Local people said that Mr Kalu was a businessman. Commanding Officer of 39 Rifles Battalion Abu Bakar Abu said the BSF troops from Shubhopur camp in West Bengal open fired on a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders while they were returning home at about 3:00am, killing Kalu Mia on the spot. Local people however managed to took the body into Bangladesh territory defying BSF's menace. Received on information, Shibganj police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to Adhunik Sadar Hospital in Chapainawabganj morgue for autopsy.
